Coming from out of town? What to expect from a sauna camp experience

Updated: Dec 17, 2024

What is Sauna Camp?

We offer a unique sauna and cold plunge experience that is unlike any other with natural lake ice plunges and up to 8 wood fired saunas on the shore in Excelsior, Minnesota. While we may carry the name "camp," we are not a traditional camping facility. "Camp" is a state of mind for us, taking inspiration from our own Summer Camp experiences to create a fun and human centric feeling just like you remember from your childhood summer camp days.

We provide scheduled 2-hour sauna sessions every week Thursday-Sunday all winter long that allows you to unwind, detoxify, and connect with others surrounded in nature.

THE PROCESS TO ATTEND

  1. Visit our website SaunaCamps.com

  2. Choose between a public or private sauna experience

  3. Select a time slot that works for your schedule and make a reservation

  4. Pack your Sauna Camp essentials (Not sure what to bring? Learn more here)

  5. Show up and have a great time!

No Lodging On-Site

Sauna Camp does not offer lodging on-site for individuals and small groups. However, there is a 30-person winterized bunk house cabin on site for use for larger groups and retreats if needed. Please email us at info@saunacamps.com if you would like more information on this.

We focus solely on providing an exceptional sauna and cold plunge experience. If you are coming in from out of town, here are some local recommendations that we have for you.

Proximity to airport / city center / restaurants

Excelsior, Minnesota is a populous suburb on the west side of Minneapolis. We are about 30 minutes from the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and 20 minutes from the Minneapolis city center.

There are hundreds of amazing restaurants within short driving distance to Sauna Camp, hotels, and plenty of other activities for you and your group.

Two-Hour Sessions

Our sauna sessions are designed to maximize your relaxation and wellness. Each booking window lasts for two hours, providing ample time for you to enjoy the heat, rejuvenate your body, and cleanse your mind. Most people will only really need about 60 minutes of sauna time, but we like to take things a little slower and let our guests enjoy the day.

Whether you prefer to sit in the sauna, cool off in the refreshing water, or simply relax and socialize with fellow sauna enthusiasts, you can take your time doing what feels right to you.

Reservations Required

To ensure a personalized and comfortable experience for everyone, reservations are required for our sauna sessions. This allows us to manage the number of participants and start saunas accordingly. We recommend booking your session in advance to secure your spot, as our sessions can fill up from time to time. Simply visit our booking platform to book your public day pass or reserve your private sauna.
